Informationen

Born in 1988, American baritone Bryan Benner left home at the age of 14 to study singing at the Idyllwild Arts Academy in southern California. There he studied for four years. Of these four years Bryan spent three as a classical guitar major under the tutelage of Michael Kudirka. Bryan began combining his voice and guitar playing into songs after discovering his muse deep in the Costa Rican jungles.

Ever since he has been traveling the world, studying with masters as diverse as Stephen Robertson at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (R.A.S.M.D.) in Glasgow, Scotland, Ubaldo Fabbri at the G. Rossini Conservatory of Music in Pesaro, Italy, and Anne Murray at the Aldeburgh Music Festival in England.

After completing his undergraduate degree at the R.S.A.M.D. in June 2010, Bryan made his Italian operatic debut as Masetto in a touring production of W. A. Mozart's DON GIOVANNI. This was immediately followed by his German debut as Guglielmo in W. A. Mozart’s COSI FAN TUTTE, a part he sang at the Lyric Opera Studios in Weimar.

This summer will see Bryan retuning to Weimar and The Lyric Opera Studio to sing the lead baritone roles in all three of the W. A. Mozart / L. Da Ponte collaboration operas; DON GIOVANNI, LE NOZZE DI FIGARO and COSI FAN TUTTE.
