NORDIC DISCO

Hailing from the second largest city in Norway, Terje Bakke has currently been making waves with some mystical, hypnotic and melodic deep house. This is a miracle. Bergen, Norway is far away from the European house scene, or actually: Far away from any music scene except for pop music. However, being “excluded” from the usual hotspots of Europe is something Mr. Bakke turned into an advantage: The results are house-tracks that without any doubt are categorized as deep and repetitive”, but sounds idiosyncratic and uniquely his own. His sound in his production is reflected in his dj-sets where the grooves are hypnotic and characteristic. It is Bakkes quest to discover that perfect sound, that perfect vibe and squeezing it until the last drop. Shoegaze in spirit, but jack had a groove.
